I am in Perth at present and am doing lots!
Perth (the City and the Metro Area) now has more new buildings, more roads, better public transport (you want to use the Metro trains, they connect you to various destinations within Perth). The Metro Area being the surburb Two Rocks WA as the farthest Nothern point, passing Joondalup WA and the southern point being the surburb of Mandurah WA, and if u need to know other farthest points making the Metro, please use the Google search engine provided at the bottom of the page. And outside the boundaries of the Metro Area you would consider the Area, Country- a little quiter, a lot more space and farms, etc.
The property market and population growth in Perth has been astounding; we have the new Fiona Stanley Hospital and Sundays have become more entertaining for families and everyone due to Sunday tradings (shops are open for shopping). There was this one other thing, Burswood Resort Casino from previous post, is now part of the Crowns International Hotel Group run by James Packer, so hence name change to Crown Perth. And if i'm not mistaken this will become Australia's first 6 stars hotel pretty soon. Also the availability of fast broadband service and the technology growth, wow! you wanna come to Perth if you haven't done so already!
